Elaine Huber, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Ohio, USA
This is my sister Elaine Huber. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Ohio, USA since January 1996. She has been working with dementia patients for the past 24 years and it’s what she loves. She has good days and bad, but never boring and the good days outweigh the bad. I know she would never trade it for anything. She’s taken care of so many elderly over the years and has many funny stories to tell. I know one of the hardest things she does is being there when her patient leaves this world. She says they become like family. She’s there with a hand to hold and kind words to say to ease them into their eternal rest.
One of her favourite nursing quotes is this:
“As a nurse we have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and body of our patients, their families, and ourselves. They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou
