Secondary Schools
A visit to the museum supports the GCSE ‘Medicine through Time’ syllabus, and allows students to investigate who Florence Nightingale was and what she did for nursing and healthcare. They are able to discover who the real person was and deepen their understanding of Florence’s achievements, moving beyond the ‘Lady with the Lamp’ legend.
The visit for 11-16 year olds is self-guided and a worksheet is provided to keep the children focused and learning. The worksheet will be emailed to the school to print out once the booking has been confirmed. The school can then print the worksheet to give to students for their visit to the museum. The museum can provide printed versions of the worksheet for a charge of £2.00.
To ensure a pleasant experience for all our visitors we require a ratio of 1 teacher/responsible adult to 10 students. The maximum group size is 25 students, if the group is larger you may need to book 2 timeslots.
