  • Train:

    The nearest mainline railway stations are Waterloo and Waterloo East, they are a 10-15 minute walk away.

    Victoria and Charing Cross are both a 20–30 minute walk away.

  • London Underground:

    Both Westminster and Waterloo underground stations are around a 10-15 minute walk away.

    Westminster is served by the District, Circle and Jubilee lines

    Waterloo underground station is served by the Bakerloo, Jubilee and Northern lines.

  • Bus:

    12, 53, 148, 159, 211, 453, C10 busses all stop at Westminster Bridge Road

    77, 507, N44 busses stop at Lambeth Palace Road

    If travelling by bus please take care when approaching the bus stops as cycling lanes pass between the pavement and bus stops in the area.

  • Taxi:

    There is a designated drop-off point for the Hospital before you reach the car park barriers- this is a short zebra crossing from the museum entrance.

  • Parking:

    If travelling by car please be aware that the museum is located within the Congestion Charge Zone.

    We do not have our own designated parking, the nearest parking is St Thomas’ Hospital this is very limited parking and should be prioritised for patients of the hospital and those with limited mobility. Details and charges can be found on the hospital’s website.

    There is no parking for coaches and minibuses and the turning circle outside of the museum is very tight- if you are travelling in this way we recommend being dropped off on Westminster Bridge Road.

In the area

The nearest post office is based inside St Thomas’ Hospital.

The nearest Prayer Room and Chapel are both based inside St Thomas’ Hospital.

For food and drink in the area we recommend Lower Marsh, this is a few minutes walk from the museum and has lots of independent cafes, restaurants and bars and a wonderful market Monday-Friday.

Good picnic spots include the hospital gardens, with the Mary Seacole Statue and views of the Houses of Parliament and both Archbishops Park and Jubilee Gardens, which both have large play areas.
