At your school

Florence Nightingale can visit your school!

We are now taking bookings for 2019-2020

Flo on the Road (key stage one)

Your students will meet an actress in the role of Florence Nightingale, and through this drama based workshop, will help her tell the story of how she became a nurse, why she went to the Crimea, what it was like at Scutari Hospital and how she made the hospital better for the soldiers.

A costumed facilitator will run two sessions during the day, with the afternoon a repeat of the morning. The students will learn about Florence’s family, Queen Victoria waving the soldiers off to the Crimea and become soldiers or nurses at Scutari Hospital under the supervision of Miss Nightingale! They will learn first-hand from Florence about her work there and re-live her story.

This workshop is suitable for two or more classes. If you have 30 or more children in each session, we ask that a school hall is used. If one class is taking part in the session then a classroom will work just as well.

Cost

If your school is in:
Zones 1 – 4 (London) £375 plus VAT
Zones 5 – 6 (London) £425 plus VAT
Outside London £475 plus VAT

Plus travel costs (return trip from Museum to the school)
