Christine Milne (nee Stewart) RGN RSCN

Christine commenced her nursing career at Seafield Sick Children’s Hospital, Ayr in 1950 when she was 18 years old. After completing her RSCN qualification, Christine went on to work at Ballochmyle Hospital, Mauchline where she undertook her RGN qualification.

Christine was employed in a range of part-time roles both in adult and paediatric settings, whilst raising her family.

When the Ayrshire Hospice opened in Ayr, Christine was one of the first nurses employed there and she continued to work there until she retired in 1993. Christine has continued to support the Ayrshire Hospice as a volunteer.

Christine enjoyed a lovely nursing career and is grateful to be included in the Florence Nightingale Museum’s Book of Honour.
