About this objectPennant made by Florence Nightingale from her petticoats,
with her sister Parthenope's name (IIAPOENOIIH) in white
tape. The pennant was tied to the mast of the Dahibiyah (Nile
boat) on which she travelled with Mr and Mrs Bracebridge in
1849 - 1850. "All my work since I came on board has been
making the pennant... the tribute to sisterly affection" (FN, 9
December 1849).
