Florence Nightingale Museum Group Visits

Thank you for your interest in visiting the Florence Nightingale Museum. We offer a wide range of options for our group visits in the museum, and also offer digital and outreach talks. We welcome universities, U3A groups, general interest groups, and many more. For school/college visits, please look at our schools offering.

Group Booking Information

Groups with 10 or more people must book in advance, but we also welcome bookings from smaller groups too.

Each group will be booked in for a 90 minute timeslot.

Time Slots

10:30am – Only available Tuesday to Sunday. During school term time there is a minimum spend of £250 due to the popularity of this slot*.

12:30pm – Only available Tuesday to Sunday. During school term time there is a minimum spend of £250 due to the popularity of this slot*.

2:30pm – Available Monday to Sunday.

*If the total cost of your visit comes to under £250, and additional charge will be added to bring the total up to £250.

Group booking costs are based on per person ticket costs. Any tours or performances are in addition to admission costs.

Tour and Performance Options Cost
Self-guided museum visit (up to a maximum of 50 people)

On arrival at the museum the group is welcomed at the front desk, the facilities are pointed out and they are given a verbal description of the layout of the museum. The group then look around the museum at their own pace, we recommend allowing at least 45 minutes for this. Due to the size of the museum groups larger than 50 people will need to split and book multiple time slots. There is no additional charge for this option.

Museum Tour (up to a maximum of 25 people)

On arrival at the museum the group is welcomed at the front desk and the facilities are pointed out while they wait for their tour guide. This tour is provided by a member of the museum team. The tour guide will tell the story of Florence Nightingale’s life and point out significant objects around the museum. The tour will last between 25-30 minutes, and then we recommend allowing at least another 30 minutes for the group to look around on their own.

Florence Nightingale Tour (up to a maximum of 25 people)

On arrival at the museum the group is welcomed at the front desk and the facilities are pointed out while they wait for their tour guide. This tour is led by a costumed actor dressed as Florence Nightingale. Florence will take the group through the museum, talking about her life and pointing out significant objects. The tour will last between 25-30 minutes, and then we recommend allowing at least another 30 minutes for the group to look around on their own.

Performative Florence Nightingale Talk (up to a maximum of 40 people)

On arrival at the museum the group is welcomed at the front desk and the facilities are pointed out. Once everyone is ready the group is directed into the museum and asked to take a seat on the chairs set out in the middle of the gallery. A costumed actor dressed as Florence Nightingale will then talk about her life and interact with the audience. Due to seating availability the talk is suitable for groups of up to a maximum of 40 people. The talk lasts approximately 30 minutes, and we recommend allowing at least another 30 minutes for the group to explore the museum.

Evening Visit

Evening with Miss Nightingale (up to a maximum of 35 people)

The doors will open at 6pm, the group can use the facilities, peruse the shop, and collect their complimentary glass of wine, or soft drink, before making their way to the seating area in the centre of the gallery. At 6.30pm a costumed actor dressed as Florence Nightingale will arrive in the gallery and tell the story of her life and achievements. This will last approximately 30 minutes. The group then has time to pose for photos with Florence and look around the museum. There will be the opportunity for people to purchase a second glass of wine up until 7.30pm. The event ends at 8pm. This event has a one-off price and there are no admission costs added.

Due to limited space, we must limit the number of people of our tours or talks. If your group is bigger than the maximum number, you will need to book more than one tour or performance.

For self-guided groups, our maximum number of visitors is 50, so larger groups will need to book two or more time slots.

Florence’s London: A Walking Tour

Walk in the footsteps of the ‘mother of nursing’ and discover the life of Florence Nightingale through the places where she lived and worked.

This walk lasts 2 hours, and will be conducted at a reasonable walking pace so please wear appropriate footwear.

This tour is led by a Blue Badge Guide.

Start: Outside the BMW motor bike shop (W1K 7TT) on the corner of Park Lane and South Street (nearest tube stations are Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner)

Finish: The Florence Nightingale Statue at Waterloo Place.

Minimum fee applies for smaller groups.
