The Story of Britain’s Black Nurses with Author Kandace Chimbiri

Join the Florence Nightingale Museum After Hours and Meet Beloved Author, Kandace Chimbiri for a Special Book Event!

Kandace Chimbiri will be introducing visitors to her new book, The Story of Britain’s Black Nurses. This story traces nursing from ancient times up to modern day. It  includes many incredible nurses from around the world: talented, skillful, innovative, hardworking, resilient. The book itself is a children’s book, but with its fascinating details and beautiful illustrations all ages can enjoy it! Kandace will go into detail about the research process for this book, and how she was able to uncover the facts needed to tell these stories. This presentation will be followed by a Q+A session with the author.

Doors will open at 5:30pm and the event itself will run from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

This book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

There will be a bar with alcoholic and non-acholic beverages for purchase (card only).

More Information about the Author Kandace Chimbiri

Kandace Chimbiri is the author of the Our Story: New Black Histories series. Other titles include The Story of the WindrushThe Story of Afro Hair: 5,000 Years of History, Fashion, and Styles, and The Story of Britain’s Black Airman. She has lived in both London and  Barbados and is passionate about teaching children and adults alike about Black history.
