Florence Nightingale Gin Copa Glass

Description

Whilst working at Scutari hospital Florence Nightingale became aware that Queen Victoria was intending on sending the British troops in the Crimea Eau de Cologne. Although Florence did not approve of drinking, she wrote to Queen Victoria saying, ‘a little gin would be more popular’. She understood that in the situation the soldiers found themselves in, they would prefer a drink to smelling good.
